1. Store your soy candles in a cool dry place as soy wax can soften in temperatures over 25 degrees.

3. Remember, candles are a lifestyle choice and care should be taken when burning soy candles.

6. Always position candles on a flat and heat resistance surface.

Yes. The recommended burn time for soy candles is no more than 3-4 hours at a time.

A “first burn” is when you light a candle for the first time and burn it for a number of hours until a full soy wax pool has formed at the top of the candle.

By doing this you will get a long even burn without creating tunnelling. Once this has happened, you are free to blow your soy candle out if desired.

When more wax can melt than the flame can burn, this makes the wick black. This is called “mushrooming” and occurs with 100% cotton wicks or wooden wicks.

Blow your soy candle out, trim the wick, and light it again for an even and efficient burn. Try not to let your wick cuttings fall into the wax pool.

While burning your soy candle, the ceramic or glass jar becomes very hot. If this continues all the way to the bottom of the jar, it may break.

To prevent any safety issues, burn your soy candles to about 1cm from the bottom of the jar and remember to use a candle plate or a similar heat resistant surface to place your soy candles on.

Trim your wick after every burn.
Do not trim the wick too much as a short wick will create smoke and uneven burning. Approximately 6-10mm should prevent mushrooming.

Allow your candle to cool down before you relight it. This allows the wax pool to solidify and keep an even burn throughout the life of the soy candle.

Our soy candle jars are made of glass and they can weaken after prolonged periods of heat.
We suggest you do not refill your used soy candle jars and recycle them safely.
On the other hand, they make great storage jars and pots for air plants.

Smoking may happen when the soy candle is in a draft or if the wick has gotten too long.

Always keep the candle away from drafts and make sure you trim the candle wick regularly to a length between 6-10mm.

When the wax is poured during production it may cool too quickly, depending on weather conditions. Occasionally this may create a small gap between the container and the wax. This small gap should disappear once you start using the candle.

1. Unscrew the screw cap and remove the safety bung and dispose. Once removed, screw back on the screw cap to the rim of your diffuser jar.

2. Place your reed diffuser somewhere suitable in your home in a spot where it won't be knocked over or investigated by curious children or pets.

3. Untie the reeds sticks, place them in the diffuser jar, and allow them to sit for one hour. By the end of the hour, you should start to notice the sticks slowly absorbing the fragrance.

4. Carefully, flip the reeds upside down (recommended to do so over a sink) and place back into the diffuser jar to saturate the top part of the reeds that stick out. This helps to speed up the process of the fragrance soaking up from the bottom diffusing through the entire reed (expect a light fragrance to start perfuming your room within 24 hours)

5. Place a coaster or similar underneath to prevent any possible ring stains from liquid sliding down the bottle after flipping the reeds. This is especially important for porous surfaces like timber or concrete. If in doubt, use a coaster!

If you prefer a lighter aroma or you are using the diffuser in a small room, such as a bathroom , you may choose to use fewer reeds than is provided, thereby producing a more delicate fragrance as fewer reeds mean slower diffusion.

If you prefer a stronger aroma or you are using the diffuser in a large room, such as an open plan living area , you may choose to use all the reeds that are provided, therefore producing a stronger fragrance as more reeds mean faster diffusion.

There are several factors that will affect how long your reed diffuser will last and the amount of fragrance it releases. These include:

1. Number of reeds used -- fewer reads for slower absorption & diffusion. More reeds for faster absorption & diffusion.
The number of reeds used is dependent on the size of the room and the factors below.

2. The airflow around your diffuser (if close to a fan, air conditioning or an open window the reeds will soak up the oil faster), can affect the diffusion rate of your fragrance oil.

3. Sitting in the high heat of direct sunlight in the hotter months, or next to a heater, will result in an increased absorption and diffusion rate due to faster evaporation.

Whenever you notice the scent fading a bit or want an extra burst of fragrance.

You should flip the reeds about once per week. However, don’t flip them too often as the more often you flip your reeds the faster the oil will disperse.

Over time, once the reed sticks are totally saturated, the cells in the reeds eventually get 'clogged' and lose their ability to pull the scent up into the reeds and throw the fragrance into the room. So, when purchasing a new diffuser, make sure you have new reeds, even it is the same scent. Check out our Premium Reed Stick Refills.

1. Try flipping the reeds upside down. This simple re-positioning can help to give the diffusion process a little boost.
When you go through this process it is highly recommended to do so over a sink or put down some paper towel, especially for wooden/concrete surfaces, as the fragrance oil can flick off the reeds.

2. Give the bottle a very gentle “swirl” or two.
This can help blend the ingredients of the oil and strengthen the scent.

3. If above steps do not have the desired effect, and you have reached the 6 months mark, it is highly likely the fragrance oil has all been absorbed and diffused, leaving behind the diffuser base.
Please note, replacing the reeds is unlikely to continue the scent diffusing process.
